Most of the workers have very little. We suggest you do a loan agreement with the worker and buy some tools. They can pay you back.
Several options, some businesses buy a house and rent rooms out per worker or rent a house for them. Sometimes rooms are available for rent with local families and your worker can stay with them.
The worker pays for the accommodation; the employer arranges it.
The worker needs health insurance, and they pay for it, our agent will help. However, we recommend the business controls this in case the worker doesn’t pay. Either include it as the wage package or set up a loan agreement so the worker pays you back.

Every repair shop has its own way of doing things so we suggest you spend some time retraining them to how you want things done. They will generally listen and want to learn new ways. Don’t just throw them to work. You will get a much better result this way.
Some of the workers will be on par with the local guys. However, we say to expect 70% skill and 150% positive work ethics and attitude. The skill you can train, the attitude you cannot.
Employers that yell and scream at the staff will not get a good result out of Asian workers. In Asian culture respect is very important, we suggest repairers read up on this or talk with us.
Australia is the golden ticket, the workers usually have two goals, 1) Work hard and send money home to support the family. 2) Eventually bring the wife and kids to Australia so the kids can have an Australian education and a better future.

Bank Account – One his first day take him to your bank to arrange a account.
Superannuation – Best if you can help them set this up.
Health Insurance – Visa agent may have arrange, check when he arrives. If they haven’t you can arrange it with www.bupa.com.au . It can be part of his wage or he pays up to you but make sure if he is paying that it gets paid. Check regularly. If not insured you are responsible for them
First Grocery Shop – Best on the first day to take him shopping, they won’t buy much or in his accommodation leave a small pack of food items, and basic toiletries.
Spending Money – $100 – 200 would be plenty, this can just be a loan to they get paid or a gift.
SIM Card – On the first day take him to get a sim card, this cost will come out of the above allowance.
Phone Charger/travel adapter – Check if they have one, he can buy it with the spending money if needed.
